How to Add Colour to Your Bathroom

Add a splash of colour for a cheap yet dramatic way to revive your bathroom, or work in colour to your new bathroom installation during the design and planning stage.

Whether on the walls or in the form of accessories, a bit of colour can make a huge difference. If your bathroom is modern why not opt for one bold feature wall? If you have a traditional bathroom, a softer more subtle colour on all the walls will give your bathroom that subtle backdrop of colour. Tiles are a great medium for adding texture and colour, although sometimes it works best to stick with more neutral colours and add a pop of colour elsewhere, rather than going crazy with colourful tiles throughout.

Colour Co-ordinates

When choosing a colour scheme for your bathroom, remember that colour can be mood changing. For a relaxing, soft, calming feel lavender, blues and greens are perfect. If you want something a bit more lively then brighter colours like yellow and orange are sure to help wake you up in the mornings. Alternatively why not opt for a striking bathroom wallpaper? Wallpaper is a great way to add colour to the bathroom and a cost effective way to re-decorate.

Dress Up Your Bath

To add texture and colour to your bathroom, tile the side of your bath rather than opting for a plain white panel. Mosaics, large tiles or wooden bath panels will work equally well.

Choose Statement Furniture

Your bathroom doesn't have to be full of colour, simply add boldly coloured glossy furniture for an instant splash of colour.

Hit the Tiles

Large tiles can make a bathroom look bigger and reduce the amount of grout lines, smaller coloured tiles and patterned mosaics can look beautiful around your bathtub or shower and can instantly transform the look of your bathroom. Or why not Install a vibrant splashback panel, an instant way to add a splash of colour.
