Collab Conversations: A Scandinavian Bathroom Transformation

We spoke to Adele from @hallie_and_harrisons_house about her bathroom renovation, which features products from our Just Taps VOS brushed brass collection. She transformed a dated, basic bathroom into a resort-feel, Scandi family bathroom and we're in love with it!

An Outline of the Project

Adele's hygge home is a warm, cosy oasis full of neutral tones, natural woods and minimalist decor. Throughout her renovation process, Adele saved the bathroom until last and got in touch with us to help her achieve her dream.  When getting started Adele stated:

“I completely stripped back the bricks to ensure that everything was done properly, which included laying a new subfloor, adding new insulation and reframing the walls. From there, fitting the bathroom suite started, and it was finished off with tiling and wood cladding."

We absolutely love the final result!

What Were They Working With?

They were working with a very basic, monochrome suite including a very long and unflattering shower hose that connected to the bath filler. One of the positives that Adele had on her side was space; she was able to install a large wall mounted vanity, a walk in shower and freestanding bath.

What Was the Design Direction?

We asked Adele where she turned to for inspiration for her home makeover. She said Pinterest was a big source of inspo, and confessed that she is an interiors book addict:

"Before decorating a room I usually save tons of pictures and ideas and then look to see what the common theme is. From there I shop around and always recommend creating mood boards to pull everything together."

Another inspiration for Adele were images of bathrooms abroad, and she wanted the space to have a kind of "resort feel" in the form of a natural, warm space. This kind of decor has been popular among many homeowners as of recently, and involves neutral colour palettes, feelings of space and plenty of plants.

How Did Our Products Fit into the Design Idea?

The products that were used in this bathroom renovation were from our Just Taps VOS brushed brass range, which is a popular choice here at Drench. Adele agreed that the VOS brushed brass assets added warmth but still had that modern, clean look that she wanted. Brushed brass is a very popular finish for brassware, accessories & heating - we have a few ranges under different brands such as Crosswater and Harbour.

We asked Adele why she chose Drench to collaborate with us for this project:

“I wanted to use Drench products in my bathroom as I’ve always admired the range and styles of products that they carry.”

How Was the Overall Experience With Drench?

Adele finished our chat with this summary:

“It can be hard to find modern bathroom pieces, especially in finishes like brass or black, that don’t come with giant price tags!”

We want to say a huge thank you to Adele for working with us and choosing our products for her bathroom renovation! This is one of our favourite bathroom designs and we love sharing these photos on our Instagram feed, because who doesn't love a before & after?!
