Chocolate isn’t just for eating, drinking or keeping to one’s self it’s one of life’s little luxuries that can be enjoyed anywhere, even in the bath. Adding chocolate to the bath adds a sense of wellbeing by its relaxing enjoyable scent and its skin softening effects with its cocoa butter ingredient. If spa’s can use chocolate to rejuvenate skin cells and to moisturise the skin, why not bring the luxury home!
To create your very own chocolate bubble bath and give your skin a spa treat follow this simple guide, an ideal and safe activity to do with the children to encourage bath times, a great Valentine’s day present, or a nice little treat for one’s self.
- 1 cup of unscented bubble bath, try to get as pure a bubble bath as possible as the fewer ingredients the better
- 1/3 cup of unsweetened soy milk
- 3 oz. (85g) of dark chocolate (baking chocolate) – dark chocolate tends works better because of its purity
Heat the soy milk in a deep pan on a low heat, do it does not boil. Without eating it, break the chocolate into small pieces, if you prefer you could use a cheese grater, the smaller the pieces the better.
Add the pieces to the heated soy milk. Stir well over low heat until the chocolate has completely melted, but do not let it boil.
Allow the mixture to cool down. Fill your bath with warm water, pour the chocolate bubble bath under a running tap, then step in, sit back, relax and enjoy!
