July is a bit of a funny time for us here at Drench. Most of us aren’t sure whether to continuously chomp down ice-creams in an attempt to manage the sweltering heat or just generally become a little bit delirious. The joys of British summertime, right?
Let’s not moan too much though, especially when we’ve got some real treats for you in this month’s New Arrivals post. A selection of impeccably crafted and incredibly designed bathroom vanity units, taps, toilets, basins and shower valves that are brand new to the bathroom world.
Storm Grey & Marble Worktops
We tend to get very excited when Bauhaus release new bathroom furniture, and this time it’s for a good reason too. Enter Storm Grey. A breathtakingly beautiful new finish for their Svelte and Glide II vanity units that is perfect for those designing a neutral or grey themed bathroom. Crafted from solid wood, these double drawer units have a soft-closing mechanism and give you an abundance of bathroom storage space.
Such an elegant and contemporary colour is more than enough to get our bathroom design senses tingling, but the fun doesn’t stop there. A wonderful vanity unit deserves a wondrous basin, so why not go for a magnificent marble worktop as an ultra-stylish alternative to a standard mounted basin. Complete with a Carrara Marble Veined effect, this solid worktop is exceptionally heat resistant and impenetrable to both dust and bacteria. Now, you might ask, where the heck does the basin go if there’s a marble worktop there instead? It’s really rather simple.
A countertop basin vanity unit is an excellent option if you’re looking for something a little different in your bathroom. They can give your bathroom a balanced and innovative style, especially when paired with a wall mounted basin mixer or tall monobloc tap that reaches over the basin edge and release their water into a swirling vortex.
Bauhaus Countertop Basins
If you’re going to be showing off your basin you better be sure that it’s something worth seeing. With such a vast array of shapes, sizes, styles and finishes, it’s easy to get stuck in a bit of a bathroom basin minefield.
Fortunately, Bauhaus know a thing or two when it comes to bathroom design, which is why their new Avillas and Balboa countertop basins are both fantastic choices to pair with a marble worktop vanity unit. Constructed from vitreous white china and finished with an antibacterial treatment for a more hygienic environment, they have an almost unbelievably slim yet strong profile that creates a feeling of complete serenity.
Pier Short Projection Toilet
You might be tempted to think that there’s not much put into the design of a toilet. After all, surely it’s just made in a factory with hundreds of other toilets which are all made in the same way? Well that might be true for the most part, but not when it comes to the new Pier Wall Hung Toilet. It combines minimalist design and contemporary style neatly together in one compact package. Perfectly suited for small spaces or en-suite bathrooms, the Pier is the shortest projecting toilet available to buy today.
Fashioned in Italy, a country globally renowned for their intricate and chic creations, the Pier is crafted from CERASLIDE, an awe-inspiring firing process that ensures a perfect surface consistency and protects the wall mounted toilet from stains and limescale. As if that wasn’t already cool enough, the entire toilet surface is treated with BATAFORM, an antibacterial treatment that keeps it looking fresh and clean on both the outside and inside.
Wild + Allure
Despite what its name might suggest, the new Wild range from Bauhaus is about as tailored and flawless as a bathroom collection can get. Think curvaceous edges of beauty and clean, elegant lines that wrap around the sanitaryware from top to bottom. Featuring two rimless toilets and two countertop basins, Wild is perfectly suited to bathrooms with dark woods due to its stunning, white design that flawlessly complements any surrounding colours.
Our favourite part of the collection by a country mile however is the back to wall and wall hung rimless toilets. The unique rimless function pushes water horizontally and vertically around the bowl to ensure you are left with a positively sparkling toilet after every use. They’re ideal for ultra-modern bathroom settings since they're made to be used with a concealed cistern which can be located within a toilet vanity unit or stud wall, giving the illusion and reality of more space for you and your family to enjoy.
And why stop there? If you’ve chosen to have a vanity unit with a countertop basin in your bathroom then you’re almost certainly going to be left with a big, open canvas above it. So, along comes the Allure range of mirrored bathroom cabinets. Available in three sizes to suit your space, they are jammed full of lots of wonderful little features for a practical and sophisticated bathroom storage solution. In fact, we could probably write another whole blog post about them. Heated, anti-mist doors; a fingerprint free aluminium shell; energy conserving LED illumination; infra-red on/off sensors; reinforced glass shelves – the list really does go on. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves, and instead leave you with a tiny teaser of the pieces and parts of the Allure collection.
Change is only a good thing. Especially if that change means taking something extraordinarily good and making it even better. Evidently Crosswater know a thing or two about this, bringing us a technological redesign of their beloved Central and Pier shower ranges. Crosswater Dial is the latest installment in push button shower technology which gives precise control of the temperature and water flow. Crafted from solid brass and finished in polished chrome, these concealed shower valves offer the perfect flexibility and balance between eco-friendly washing and a luxurious high-pressure flow.
Once your ideal water temperature has been set, simply push the valve to stop the water flow and upon return to your shower sanctuary the water will be at the exact same temperature as when you left it. Pretty darn useful if you’ve got small children and their little fingers and toes to worry about.
Zion Cloakroom Furniture
Space is a funny thing. We talk about its limitations and the lack of it with which we have to work with, when perhaps ironically we only use 29% of the surface of the Earth for ourselves. Anyway, musings such as this are probably best saved for another time or dinner party. Let’s bring it back to space within the world that we care about most, the bathroom world.
Whether you are creating your dream en-suite or giving the spare toilet under the stairs a quick once over, the new Zion range is superbly suited for smaller spaces and areas in need of extra bathroom storage space. It combines a deep and spacious washbasin, mounted within a glorious wooden cabinet, with an abundance of storage for bathroom items and essentials underneath it. And best of all, it’s available in three sizes and finishes to suit your bathroom furniture needs.
Water Circle Tapware
They say that you should keep the most special things until last. Now, we don’t really know who ‘they’ is or the particular reasoning for this way of doing things, but who are we to break from tradition? For the last feature in this month’s New Arrivals post we’ve saved something extra special for you.
Please welcome the brand new Water Circle taps from Crosswater. Certainly not for those who enjoy angular and regimented design, this collection has a refreshing curved look that undoubtedly makes it stand out from the rest. And if these truly avant-garde taps aren’t quite distinctive enough for you, then you might be tempted to go for the Water Circle Anniversary Edition basin mixer. Individually made to order, this basin mono tap has handmade Murano glass detailing on the handle that looks absolutely fabulous and is sure to give guests to your bathroom something to talk about.
